he said he wants the dog and is sad coz he cant take care of it for the meantime coz of his grandma...he said he will have to find a new place to live if he is unable to sort things out...so temporarily the dog is with my friend...could it be that he just doesnt want to keep it...?

if he says he cant keep it it is probebly that he cant keep it, no tthat he doesnt want it. and as was already said, a pet is not a good gift without consulting the person first. you never know what there situation is and if they can even aford, or have time to take care of an animal.

A pet is not a good gift to give to any one with out consulting them first for this exact reason, not only that they are expensive, and what happens when your relationship goes south. or was your thinking it would help cement things better
