Just a few days ago, I feel that after I pee, I did not empty my bladder entirely because I keep having the urge to pee again. At night, I had a fever of 38.2 degrees. I thought I was just heaty so I ignore the fever and just drank lots of water, but the fever just go and come again. I also notice I have the urge to pee all the time but I couldn't empty the whole bladder. This morning, I notice a lot of blood in my urine. It was freaking bloody. I got scared and visit the doctor immediately. After telling her my systoms and did a urine test, she told me it's quite serious. And I even had a pain at my lower back (the kidney area). She told me it's bladder infection and it may have affected my bloodstream and also infected my kidney. She gave me an injection and antibiotics. She told me to go back 2 days later and if situation didn't improve, she'll have to refer me to the kidney hospital. I am so worried and depressed. Will it lead to kidney failure or long term illness? Please help me

This shouldn't affect you long term, though it will be quite miserable for the duration of the problem. Sounds like you might have a kidney stone. They are painful but once it passes you'll be fine. You are headed in the right direction, just keep up with your doctor thinks is best and take all you medicine also drink alot of water to flush it out.

Sounds like a bladder infection left untreated for too long - it could've gone into your kidneys (which would explain the low back pain, becuz that's where your kidneys are located) Since I'm not a dr, I'd say, do what she says, to the letter, and also drink lots of cranberry juice (100 % juice, not the cocktail version of it) becuz that helps to clean the urinary tract system out. Not a psychic, either, so don't know if it will lead to kidney failure or not - it's possible the antibiotics you got will catch the infection and take care of things before that happens.

Poor you! I myself suffer with bladder infections, & this sounds like one of them. Is there pain when you pee? Also do you try & pee & pass very little, or find you pee at a slower rate than normal. If either of those 2 apply, that could be cystitis. If not, it could be a kidney stone. Both are unpleasant, but not serious if treated promptly. You can help yourself by drinking plenty of water & cranberry juice. Cranberry is an antiseptic so will help clear any infection you may have. I know the last thing you want to do when you have to pee all the time is to drink more, but the more you drink, the more you`ll flush out of your system, & be diluting any nasty bacteria in there!!

Good luck...

Do not over-react just yet. It is not unheard of to get a kidney or bladder infection, with proper antibiotic, it is curable. If no improvement occurs, a culture can be done to find what bacteria is causing ur problem and the antibiotic may be changed accordingly. Pure cranberry juice is also very good for the urinary tract. Your doctor may want to send u to the hospital to have certain tests performed, she can`t do in her office. I know it is frightening and worrisome to be ill, I wish u a speedy recovery.

What that sounds like is a pyelonephritis (kidney infection). They can be serious. Where you would be concerned with kidney failure is if you had recurrent infections or untreated infections. I'll leave the final word up to the nephrologist, but it sounds like you'll be fine if you just do what your doctor says.

You could have a kidney stone, especially because you had obvious blood in your urine. A good way to find out is by having a renal ultrasound or a CT scan. Hope you feel better soon!

If it does not clear up - it is normal to send you to a specialist -- is it safer that way- sounds like a bad infection- hopefully the antibiotics will knock it out - a test for culture and sensitivity can be done to see what kind of bacteria it is- and what antibiotic will work best -- D

NEVER ignore illness. You did the right thing, going to the doctor. Be sure to follow up and call her or see her in 2 days. It can be very serious, but now you just have to pray and see what happens.
