what causes a child to have knocknees when he or she is born?

I want to know what causes knocknees because I know of a kid who was born with knocknees.

It's the way the child is carried when it is an infant, if a mother carries her toddler at an odd angle, then this will cause knocked knees. Erm. . .I hope this helps. =]
