Who's fault would it be to cause
a wealthy 40-year-old man and an
18-year-old girl to fall for each other
and want to get married? I saw this on
Dr. Phil today and thought it would be a
good question to ask on Yahoo Answers.

If there is a "fault", the fault can easily go
beyond that of the 40-year-old or that of
the 18-year-old.
What about the parents of both people?
Are the parents at fault for rasing them in
such a way that may have influenced
them to make these kind of choices and
throwing caution to the wind?
By the way, in this instance, these two met
on the website called sugar-daddy.com or
something like that. On top of that, the 40-
year-old's best friend is strongly against
the relationship, eagerly voicing his
opionions on the show.
Anyway, thanks for all of your answers!

I would say the 40 year old's fault he should have know better than to mess with a 18 year old anyway, she is still easily manipulated and he should not began that relationship, what he cant find a woman his own age?

Big difference in age, even if she is legally capable of making that decision. She isn't emotionally capable. A 40 year old must know that an 18 year old is not much more than a child, and in some ways, still a child. I know it's not impossible, but how many 18 year olds actually are ready for a lifetime commitment? They don't have much experience with love. I believe it's more the 40 year old's fault, since you state that it must be someone's fault, which implies that you are thinking that perhaps it is indecent. Take it slow and wait a few years to consider marriage. If she still feels the same way, go for it.

I don't think its anybody's fault IF the love is real. Sounds like the girl has daddy issues or is a gold digger...and the man is just happy to be able to brag about being with an 18 year old.

It would be the 18 year old girls fault, because if she wears sexy clothing and dresses in a way that attracts the 40-year old man then it would be her fault, because she's making him fall for her, and he gets attracted to her and then wants to marry her. otherwise why would a 40-year old man want to marry an 18-year old girl. That's sick.

The words fault and love should never be used in the same sentance. If the love is pure and true age should not be a factor . Provided of couse both are adults .

Ew. I think it would mostly be the 40 year old guy's fault.
He's the more mature one... he should know what he's doing.
Yes, the girl is old enough to make her own decisions and realize what she's getting herself into.
But come on, compared to a 40 year old?
