Big egos, small brains.
They begin to think they don't have to answer to anyone and want everybody to cater to their whims.
Hollywood has created more monsters and immoral people than it has decent upstanding citizens......

As the question is requesting to give the single reason:
Though the answers should be different depends on the field in which the person got famous, there must be common reason for this. It could be this:
Difficulty in maintaining the famous name persistantly without understanding the natural phenomenon: waxing and waning is very common even in natural things. But the famousness is mostly due to manual decision. So waning is part and partial of waxing.
So the person looses balance between outside world and close spouse.

I suspect there is a lot of stress in their relationships. First, if they both have successful careers, they don't typically spend much time together, when they put their careers first.
Second, they're always fodder for speculation. I would think if you're always reading or hearing about your spouse, that they were seen with someone else, or whatever, you get to wondering.
Then there is the living under a magnifying glass bit, where if you step out in public, you have hordes of idiots annoying you.
Marriage is work under the best of circumstances, and I don't see that as the "best".

Because they are continually in the spotlight and after a while since they are human like any of us they cannot take it any more.Plus the media plays on small meetings with friends hyping it as an affair and that starts the suspicion and the ball rolls fast to divorce.

I think celebrities get a lot more temptation than the average person. What's more, they're tempted by very attractive individuals. Add in work schedules that often conflict, or take them away from each other for months at a time, and you get the recipe for infidelity.

The celebrities marriages are based on physical relationship and their trust weeds away as the time passes. Further, celebrities are financially independent and always like to live the way they are used to and this tend to generate mistrust.

They are the wrong people for the wrong significant other. They just have puppy love then get into the wedlock then after sometime, poof, marriage blasts into an unhappy ending.

because celebrities are exposed to the most materialistic segment of society, where money, sex and power is everything; thus it is hard for them to build a relationship based on trust, instead it is usually based on greed, lust or money, and when the marriage has served its purpose they have no reason to stay together.
