A baby should take in 2 1/2 ounces of formula per pound of weight in a day. Ex: 12 lb. baby would take somewhere around 30 oz. in a 24 hour period. This is just a guideline, some babies may take more or less.

It is completely up to your baby. I also have a 6 week old and he drinks about 4oz. every 3-4 hours. sometimes he wants more sometimes he wants less. Just follow your babies lead. If you are worried your baby is not getting enough formula you might call you ped. and ask them. As long as your baby is having about 10-12 wet diapers in a 24 hour period then you should be ok. And I saw that one girl says she puts rice cereal in her babies bottle, that is ok to do, but it's not recommended to give your baby cereal, in a bottle or not, until they are at least 5 months old. Doctors say that any earlier may cause your baby to have food allergies. only a suggestion. good luck and congratulations on the baby!

I work with babies and a 7 week old should take in between 4-6oz. The real indication if this is enough they should have 12-20 wet diapers in a 24hr period and are they loosing or gaining weight. If loosing you need to increase # of feeds if gaining, great job keep it up.

think you shld take the weight of the baby multiplied by 150 ml and divided by the number of times that the baby has milk in a day...

for eg, if a baby is 3kg,you multiply by 150ml that comes up to 450 ml and you divided it by 8 times if he/she drinks every three hourly..that is 450ml/8 = 56.25ml plus minus.....also divide by 12 if he/she drinks every two hourly..u get the drift...

I can't believe people still put cereal in their babies bottle!!! Its not good for them. It makes them get full too soon, and they may not get the nutrition they need!

It all depends on the baby, usually around 4oz.....
