This is not just an election thing for me.Daily I watch "the Span" and I read articles from various international papers. I like talk radio, left talk radio that is. I just feel weird, I have no other girl friends that love or even like politics. My friends love gossip and drama. I'm I totally weird? Do I need to go back to college just to have friends that enjoy discussing world issues and politics? Men love to talk politics with me but most women tune out when I bring it up. What's the deal? ya know? Is this normal for you?

I know exactly how you feel!!! I think a lot of my girlfriends just humor me when I get on my political soap box. I called my friend today and she knew nothing about the election, yet she knew everything about the Britney/K-fed break--she even knew the details of the pre-nupt!!!!

Most of my political debating is with males, but I like it, I can hold my own just fine. Although, I do have a few girlfriends who follow and care about the political process. I am very grateful for 'em!
Good question, I thought I was the only one too!!! :o)

It is a natural born instinct for men to lean toward leadership of any kind, so because women control men, men slip around and talk a little politics to feel as if they have a little authority and importance.

It is true that females in general are far less informed than their male counterparts. Look at what magazines we subscribe to.

Women: Cozmo, Redbook, Glamor

Men: Time, US News and World report.

Who reads the Wall Street Journal?

I know what you're saying. The sad truth is that most men, and ESPECIALLY most women, are just politically ignorant, if not outright politically stupid.

I'm sorry that I am not a woman, but I would love to talk politics with you any time. Please get in touch with me! :)

Cause it's a man's world.........unless you're talking about sex of course. Naa, probably because politics has alot to do with law and there are more men involved with that as well. Who knows.

Nope, you are not weird. People have different interests that's all.
And it is not only girls who don't like to talk about politics, man of my male friends doesn't like to talk about it too. You can talk sports with them but forget politics.

why dont you just do what you like and not define yourself so much by what men do. I mean theres nothing that bothers me more than a single woman that doenst have a life of her own or for that matter a girlfriend who is too into my interests

You are right. Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi really are men. Not a feminine bone in THEIR bodies.
