The safest thing to do would be to throw them away and buy new ones! If you want to try salvaging them, put them in a 50-50 bleach and water solution for awhile to kill the mold or try spraying them with vinegar or lemon juice and letting them sit in direct sunlight (also supposed to kill the mold) for several hours. If you decide to buy new toys, make sure to turn them upside down on the edge of the tub after the bath, to let the water drain out so they can dry out. Leaving them full of water encourages mold growth, esp in a damp place like the bathroom.

personally the time and energy of cleaning a $1 duck is so not worth it to me. I would just toss it and buy a new one. I mean really it is a used rubber duck, lol. But since you are doing it, have you tried putting it in a dishwasher?

The only way to clean a rubber duck is in a bleach water solution like you are now and try to get the water hot. Your supposed to swish the water around inside of it and keep squirting it out for a while and then fill it up and let it sit in the water for the rest of the night and then the next morning swish the water around inside of it and squirting it out again and that should do the trick. if not i would consider the duck gone.

Um, I'd be careful with bleach. Sodium hypochlorite (household bleach) is toxic. Not sure you want your kids bathing in it. If the rubber duckies are cheap I'd throw them out.
p.s. Bleach doesn't eradicate mold. It discolors and kills surface mold, but (because of its ionic structure) never gets to the mold roots - which is why mold always grows back when you use bleach.

I have the same problem. I usually through them away and buy new (cheap) ones to replace. The only thing you can really do is soak the toys in bleach, then wash good with soap. They still will smell a little like bleach.

go to WalMart and buy them another one. unless you can cut it open and clean it out then there is no way to clean it.
