My fiancé and I recently had sex where he did not withdraw completely. I am on the pill, Ortho. My period came right on time, with normal flow for the first two day, the third day was very light, and fourth day hardly anything. I am usually pretty steady right up until the night of the fourth day. My breasts are not tender, I do not have headaches, I do not really “feel pregnant” nor have I really felt sick. My stomach has been upset the past couple of days though, gasy, and I seem to be peeing more than usual. Has anyone ever still had their period while on the pill, and pregnant? Was it short like mine just was?

I don't think you are pregnant..To be sure you should buy a pregnancy test or go to a doctor and get a pregnancy test done..Yes, you can get pregnant while on birth control. Birth control is not 100% effective..The only thing that is 100% effective is having no sex..I had a friend who got pregnant while using birth control and now the doctor think she had to be pregnant before they gave it to her even though she took a pregnancy test before they gave her the birth control and she said it was negative so they gave her a birth control. I'm not sure which birth control she got. But later while on birth control she found out she was pregnant..Her daughter is now 3 years old and she still don't know if she was pregnant before or after the birth control.

It is possible to get pregnant while on a contraceptive. Abstinence is the only thing that is 100% effective, everything else is 99 % or less. There have been many woman who will have their menses regularly throughout pregnancy. There could be many possibilities...sometimes being on the pill will change your period. What I suggest is taking a home pregnancy test just to make sure. Periods can change for many reasons (stress, medication etc...). But to answer your question...yes it is possible and yes your period can be shortened, but that may not be your case. Best way to find out is to take a test. Tests now a days can tell you early on. If any other doubts you can see your doctor and have him order a HCG quantitative test (test that can estimate how far along you are) but do this after you have done two at home pregnancy test. If you are having some sort of lower abdominal discomfort and peeing more frequently you might want to see your doctor you might have a urinary tract infection (bladder infection). Other symptoms associated with a UTI are burning while urinating, feeling as if you really have to go but when you it's only a small amount of urine, some itching, possibly fever. I hope I have been helpful. Hope all works out.

If you don't have that "feeling" you are preggo, then you might not be. I was on the pill when I became pregnant- but didn't get a period when I was supposed to. I definitely had that feeling I was. I actually am paranoid now- and just took a test today...been feeling soo tired..but I think that's from my 13 month old lol... but I don't have that feeling, and the test said I wasn't. When you do get pregnant, you will totally feel it- your body won't feel like your own-like something has taken over!

Other symptoms I had when I was preggo- stuffy nose entire pregnancy, tummy hardens-especially the further you get- hard as a rock lol.... very very sore breasts for quite a while in 1st trimester, nausea- felt like I was getting the flu, and certain smells- like coffee, cigs, alcohol, seafoods, sauces (where I worked-stir fry place), all got to me and I would feel like i had to throw up... but luckily never did. Also- I thought my belly was getting chubby- but really was getting bigger from the baby- and this was really early on- like 2 weeks... I knew I was pregnant at 2 weeks... just had that feeling.

So if you have doubts, you can take a test (like I did lol), and it'll let you know for sure or not.

It HAS happened in the way that you describe, but mainly when a woman has missed a pill or five. Also, contrary to popular belief, withdrawal before the male ejaculates does not keep the woman's vagina sperm-free. Pre-*** alone is loaded with the little vermin.
