Yes i can , people are so much of this kind these days , gets really difficult for me to make friends too..All though I am from India , but it happens here all the time, am sure human beings no longer cater to the definition of a human being-someone who has feelings emotions and is sensitive ..Anyway , i admire people who can enjoy their own company as even i am one of such people .
You can IM me if you wanna talk !
Take care and donot worry ! Never change yourself and be bold !Am sure u r an exception and KUDOS To u for that!

The only thing I can say, sugar, is that we have been flooded with yankee's and some of their northern ways have been pushed upon us. So sorry that you have had an unpleasant time, we tend to distrust outsiders. One thing we hate is for others not raised in the south to criticize our lifestyle and to continually tell us how much better the north is and that we talk funny, when we think everything is just great to us. You may find after being here for four years and you don't like it you might want to go home.

I agree. In '91 I moved from NJ to a small town in KY. I was still in school at the time, and I found the kids here to be meaner, more judgemental, and much bigger bullies than those from the city. I did find some of the older people a bit more polite than those from the city, but mainly just the senior citizens. I guess the so-called "southern hospitality" is dying out with the younger generations.
I still live in KY, but every once in a while I get to travel to larger cities in the north. I haven't noticed any difference in the way people treat each other no matter where they live.

You really cannot beat Southern Hospitality, It just radiates, especially when you have been long away and in a rather cold and disconnected world. I wonder though... How could you do that Turkey .. it is still cackling... I should think you would send him out to the coop with Snidely and do a faux bird this year...? eh? (uh.. was that cackling or crackling?) my bad.

I was born and raised in Wisconsin and I think the people up north are nicer than down south...I have lived in the south now for 30 some years and yes there are some nice people..but I think the North is nicer as far as the people go

Sounds like the ones you're trying too hard to get to know may not be worth the effort. Keep trying with other people, move on.
