which cpu would be better play doom 3 with celeron d 2.6 or pentium 4 2.4 other specs are 1gb ram x1600 pro graphics card

I have a Pentium 2.4 and can play Doom 3, but you have to have a very good graphics card, and at the very least 1gb of memory if you want any of the special effects (Spectacular) in your game settings...
In general, video game require a good graphics card more than a fast or powerful processor, but having both is the best option.

dont compare celeron with Pentium, even if you have a celeron 3ghz, it will be not equal to a P4 2.4ghz.
Not only the processor clock speed acounts, there are L2 cache memory and system bus speed etc, which should be considered.

DAMN I HAVE 2.6GH 1 GB OF RAM.....135GB OF FREE SPACE AND THE ONLY THING I NEED IS THAT THE GRAPHIC CARD THAT IT !!!!!!!!....AND DAMN IS HELLA LAG....TO PLAY DOOM 3 ONLINE
