I really know nothing about drums, but because of some influence from a friend I've become increasely interested in this particular topic of famous drummers and drum speeds. So please, give me your knowledge, the drummer's name, the band name, and bpm record.

Out of the rock drummers, Neil Pert of Rush is super fast. Try the Moving Pictures album. Also, John Fishman of Phish is super quick, try Story of a Ghost album. Mickey Hart was a Marine Band snare champion, he played with the Grateful Dead. If your a Marine Band champion, your probably one of the fastest in the world.

If you don't mind the jazz guys crashing the party, you should check out Buddy Rich. Popa Jo Jones, Billy Cobham, etc..., most jazz drummers are incredibly quick, quicker than most rock drummers.
