At his press confrence today, he didn't have that same cocky air about himself...I loved it! Did any of you notice it too?

Yes Lennon, I am very passionate about politics, almost too passionate. It's my favorite topic of conversation, hands down. Glad to see there are kindred spirits out there :o)

I think he was relieved. As the de facto head of the GOP, he had the burden of trying to craft a direction for the party. And since he has no clue, this always proved difficult.

He had total control of the Congress, the executive and the courts, and yet couldn't pass his immigration plan, couldn't craft a competent healthcare plan, couldn't reform social security. In short, he was incompetent.

Now he can just sit back and let the Democrats lead. It's got to be a relief for him.

I noticed as usual, he was tripping over his words. He had to force himself to appear humble. He was fighting back his urge to be his cocky old self. I see him as a spoiled child not getting his way yet again. We'll see soon enough how humble he is. He does have the veto pen, poised and ready for work. Reality has not yet fully set in. When it does, we may then see a changed man. In the next few months, let's see how much he ages. Delusion, denial, realization, and finally depression takes its toll on anyone.

He was kind of forced to. Its especially funny how he was mocking pelosi during the campaign and saying that if democrats won, the terrorists would have won. I also liked the statement that rumsfeld would be there until the end . . . just before rumsfeld resigned. When you're forced to eat your words like that its a humbling experience.

I noticed. It made him almost bearable to watch. For 6 years, I've had to keep the remote control handy lest he appear on screen and open his mouth.

I thought he was defensive, especially when asked about the discussion regarding keeping Rums. on after the election.

not humbled, but resigned. He knows his Presidency is essentially over already because the democrats will stall any movement from the White-house.

Was it being humble, or shock over the election results?

He is a good American, trying to prevent further polarization of Americans and keep the country together. He accepted his party's defeat in Congress, more than any Dem can say in the past 2 presidential elections, and promised to work together with the Dem congress to better America. Now, can the Dems say they want to better America too, or just gloat in a victory that gave them more power?

You got to know when to hold 'em, you gotta know when to fold 'em. Bluff called. Deal the cards.
