You'll need to convert it to a format that media player understands (avi), or download a codec pack like Klite so media player can play it.
Since you didn't say what the codec was of the email vid hard to tell you what exactly you need to do.

MP does not play all video types. When it fails to play there is usually a message re codecs, follow that up. Of course you could have a corrupted download.
