I recently asked a question about politics and said what I was for and against and got some pretty hateful responses such as since I am pro life that as a woman I make them sick! I had an abortion when I was 14 and had no idea at the time what I was doing. I would give anything to take it back. My question is how many of you who have had abortions are pro choice? It seems to me that just women who have never had to go through something like that are pro choice. Am I right?

I always thought that if I was ever confronted with the situation, I would have an abortion. I was all for pro-choice. Then it happened. I couldn't do it once I knew there was a life inside of me. Hey, that's just me. I think it should be every woman's choice, and if she can not think of the fetus as a "life" and abort, then that's where she's coming from and shouldn't be criticized.

Likewise, if someone can't bring themselve to do it, so be it. That is also her choice.

Bottom line: Stop trying to force your views and opinions on others and live and let live.

The poster of this question did the right thing.
It's a woman's personal choice what to do with her body.
If she is a child, then an abortion is necessary. One is necessary also due to rape and incest or if the mother's life is in danger.

Abortion should never be used as birth control. The couple should have used birth control to start with. Otherwise the ability to have children should be taken away from the irresponsible woman. It's better to put the unwanted child up for adoption for those who cannot have children, than to kill it.

I know of a woman who, when abortion was illegal in the 50s, she had to carry a diseased baby inside of her. She could not get an abortion. The baby was stillborn. This woman is a Christian. Since that incident with her baby, she has been pro-choice.

For me, personally, if I was raped, I would have an abortion.
If it was an accidental pregnancy between my husband and I, I would either keep the baby or give the baby up for adoption - depending on whether we were able to care for the baby or not.

There was news recently about this woman who was carrying twins. She had to abort one to save the other. She had an abortion, yet she is campaigning for everyone else not to have the right to have one. Why should she be okay with having an abortion, but not let everyone else have one?! What makes her so "special"?!
Why should women die because of her?!

I am pro coice but that doesn't mean I look at abortion as an option. I don't ever want to make that choice. There are too many reasons to possibly need an abortion to permanently take that choice away. If I get pregnant because I've been raped I want to make the choice of aborting that child not go through 9 months of a pregnancy I never wanted to give the child away. Birthing a child is traumatic on you physically. or what if the child has severe phys disabilities or what if it's multiple birth and their only survival relies on aborting 1 or 2 fetuses

I am neither for or against abortions, I think it is up to the individual woman to make that choice. It is of no concern to me what she chooses to do. If it is a moral sin or murder, it is she who will have to answer for her actions, therefore, I don`t try to force my opinions on others.

you are wrong. many women who have had abortions are comfortable with their decisions and continue to support a womans right to choose her reproductive destiny
