Depends on the circumstances of the case. If you got more charges that are more serious, you can probably plead guilty on those charges if the prosecution takes away the marijuana charge. If it's just the weed charge, you're sh'it out of luck. And I'm sure no lawyer will even try to get rid of it since it's so small and trivial now (compared to the more serious stuff that's going on).

How long has it been since your charge? If its been over 2 or three years with no previous charges, or no charges after the possession you can go to your local clerk or courts and get an application for exspungment or however you spell it. You will be required to go in front of the judge and pled your case. A good sugestion would be to go get a drug assesment and stay off the pot. If your in school fulltime and have no income or low income medical clinics usually offer a sliding fee scale so you dont have to pay much if any for the assesment. Also when you go for your assesment dont mention anything about family drug problems, just say no one drinks or does drugs in your family, no brother, no mothers, no fathers, no grandparents and so on. And do not say you drink beer because they might recomend you to seek treatment. But if you really have problems with drugs and alchol then treatment will help you greatly.

If it was a recent charge stay out of trouble because if you get another possession charge you wont be able to do anything. Before you go make sure your in school or your working full time because the judge will take all this into consideration.

If this is a current possession charge, it would help if you told us what state you live in. Ohio its a Minor charge with no more then $100 fine with no jail time. Just plead not guilty and go find a cheap lawyer to try and get it reduced to a lessor charge. Attempted possession if found gulity you will loose your driving privledges for 6 months. Is it a felony possession charge? If so get a lawyer right away before it goes to the grand jury.
