To convert to feet, simply multiply 9.81 by 39.37 (386.22) and divide by 12 (32.18) feet per second. The problem is that 9.81m/sec/sec is acceleration, and not a speed so you have to factor in how many seconds of acceleration you have and then convert to speed at that time.

To convert from feet per second to miles per hour, multiply feet per second by 3600, and that's feet per hour divide that by 5280 and you get miles per hour. (21 mph at 1 second)

You don't. Gravity is an acceleration (m/sec^2), not a speed (m/sec).

Converting m/sec to km/h:

1 km = 1000 m, 1h = 3600 sec

1 km/h = 1000 m/ 3600 sec = 3.6 m/sec

1 m/sec = 1/3.6 km/h

similar calculations for miles/h (1 mile = 1600 and a few m) and ft/sec (1 ft =12 inch = 12* 0.0254 m).

you have to change numerator unit and denominator seperately and then multiply the rsult with 9.81
a) m/s --> km/hr
since 1m = 10^-3 km and 1 s = 1/(60*60) hrs.

multiply by: 10^-3/(1/3600)= 3600*10^-3 = 3.6

b)m/s --> ft/s now denominator is same but 1m = 3ft so multiply by 3
c)-->mi/hr. Again 1m = 0.0006 mi and 1s = 1/3600 hr
therefor multiply by 0.0006*3600 = 2.16

you can not change it; because gravity is m/s^2

1s, gravity is 9.81m/sec^2
1hr^2=12960000 s^2
9.81m/s^2*1km/1000m*12960000s^2/hr^2=127137km/hr^2
1m=3.28ft
9.81m/s^2*3.28ft/m=32.1768ft/s^2
1mi=1609.344m
9.81m/s^2/1609.344m/mi*12960000s^2/hr^2=78999mi/hr^2
