Many people lack the ability or will-power to follow through. that's why there are very few successful people out there in this world. When a project is new, you feel its novelty and become very enthusiastic. But then as the project drags on, problems are introduced and the novelty wears off. So a lot of us would rather abandon the project than to complete it. And the cycle starts all over.

ADHD! I do it all of the time.
For example... I will start to was the dishes and then have to go to the restroom and on my way back I vaccume the floor living room and then realize that I have not finished the dishes.
