Registered Nurse here; Hun, first take a deep breath and calm down. Your going to be okay, this is not that uncommon at all. Now it's probably a hormonal imbalance, or irritation of cervix. However, the most important thing you can do is schedule an appointment with a GYN he or she, will take a complete history, do an examination, draw some lab, and will be able to discuss and evaluate with you what's happening with your body. You do need to see a Physician ASAP, for you don't want to become Anemic. You will be fine, providing you seek Medical Attention, 99 times out of 100, it is something so minor, so don't worry, just get that appointment scheduled, and keep it. You will be feeling better in no time, and can leave all this stress and worry behind you. Thanks for the opportunity to address such a well written question.

the same thing happened to me in february of this year. i ended up having to go to the gynecologist and have a pap smear done. the results came back abnormal and had to go back again for something called a colposcopy, that's where they put vinegar all over the cervix and it would show white spots where the abnormalities were and they would take a sample of it and test it. The results came back abnormal for that and the "infection" went deeper. Then i actually had to have a minor surgery called a "cone biopsy". where they went deeper and tried to remove all the abnormalities. That was a couple months ago that that happened. I still need to go in to discuss the results. It could be HPV (human papilloma virus) and that can sometimes cause cervical cancer in women. so go see your gyno ASAP. hope this helps and good luck! :D

If you have sex even one day a month you can be pregnant. As far as your bleeding for 17 days a month, most likely you have a hormonal disorder. Birth control pills or a medication called Glucophage are often prescribed to fix this situation. Go to your OBGYN, if you don't want your mom to know that you are sexually active call Planned Parenthood they will see you for little to no cost. PLEASE use safer sex practices.

You should go to a gynecologist and get that checked out. Ive heard of periods skipping months but not lasting longer than 7 days. Thats a problem.

if you have had it for that long, you def. want to go to a clinic or ask a doctor. u should never have your period for that long. it could mean at one point u were pregnant maybe for a very short time frame and that your boyd is not capible of carrying it so it gives you a miscarriage in which you bleed longer. but im not a doctor. it could also mean if it is large blots, that it could be cancer or pre cancer, which is what i had. but please go ask a doctor. it has nothing to do with sex, sex can make it lighter or heavier, shorter or longer, but not for 2 weeks. hope i helped.

you need to see a doctor ASAP!!! this is dangerous. you can become anemic or get really sick, I had a friend in high school have this happen at the same age. they had to put her on the pill to regulate her flow. just go to a doctor
