whoever can prove the adultery can get alimony, unless they both can prove adultery then neither one will get alimony based on adultery.
As far as the kids go, adultery has nothing to do with the kids unless one of the parents involved the kids in the adultery (such as bringing them along when they saw their "other" person or if they asked the kids to help cover up what they were doing) so as far as the kids go , the court will award custody to the most fit parent, usually the one who was most involved with the child be for the split, and maybe even give joint custody to both parents.
Now in a divorce, who ever is making the lesser amount of money in the relationship can ask for alimony(not based on any wrong doing by the other person) but based on the fact that the quality of life for the one person will change substantially and the courts can award alimony to that person for a set amount of time giving the person receiving alimony time and resource to improve their earning potential. No not really fair, but that is the way it works.

Depends on the reason they pick for divorce, how old the kids are and if the divorce is standard or if they fight over everything.

Solution; ask the question, do you both still love each other? If it is a yes, then take them to a bible based church and have them saved, God takes care of the rest.
