Question is simple. But, I'll explain. Someone I know loves to poke at me, with bull***, I defend myself by stating facts, yada, yada, yada, but he always seems to have the last laugh. I see him tomorrow and I want to laugh.

Grow a beard like mine, wear a turban and a permanent scowl, and keep repeating your case over and over. You will win every argument.

State-"Sometimes I feel like I need to make others feel bad when I do not feel good about myself. Now I Know that deep inside I just hurt more by hurting others so I have made the personal decision not to create a state of negativity in my life because what I say and do comes back to me in ways that I do not like. Therefore I have chosen not to play cruel mind games. Have a great day!" Then walk away.

I would try to find someone else to debate with! I have sympathy for you, and have found myself in the same situation before. You are either going to have to assure yourself that you are above this sort of thing and walk away (he is obviously not interested in facts or intelligence anyway), or you will have to mix your debates and replies with shots that sting more than his did. Stay one up on him not only with facts but also with come-backs. Seems sort of immature, but when in Rome....

Debate can only take place when two people are exchanging conversation - my point being it won't be a debate if you don't talk to him. He obviously knows he can get to you and does what it takes.

Laugh - it's a great technique - do it.

Why even lower yourself to his level? Why let him to continue to do this to you? Be the bigger person, laugh and walk away.
