He drove the deficit up higher than any President in history until that time. Before his administration you hadn't heard of homeless families since the depression. I lost count of how many times he nearly brought on a war with the USSR and goaded terrorists with his careless talk. Not to mention selling out our National Security with the Iran/Contra deal. He should have been impeached and he and most of his cabinet tried for treason. By the time George H.W. Bush was done this country was so far in debt it looked hopeless. Clinton may have been an immoral pig, but within six years there were plenty of jobs, healthy families, and a surplus in the budget. When he left office people had less fear of losing their jobs and homes and we were at peace. He knew how to take care of the citizens of this country instead of his big business cronies. I lived through these things and know they were true. I hate revisionist history.

President Carter was the first President I voted for. His downfall was he was more interested in diplomacy and making the world a better place for everyone and tended to ignore things a bit at home. The reason he lost re-election was because he stayed in his office doing his job trying to get the hostages out of Iran instead of hitting the campaign trail and rubbing hands. He sent his family out instead. We all know now why he wasn't able to end the hostage crisis before the election. All I know is that while he was in office I had a job and when Reagan was elected I didn't work for nearly four years. Reagonomics never trickled down to me. It didn't work then and it doesn't work now.

Reagan replaced into certainly a very stable president. your individual emotions aside you are able to desire to seem on the political climate during the 80s. We have been popping out of a foul financial recession interior the previous due 70s. hobbies expenditures have been sky intense. there have been gas embargos and the stress with the Soviet Union replaced into at an all time intense. He heavily guided us via some very confusing circumstances. He could be remembered as an astounding president and background would be very sort to him.

I have to agree and disagree with you...
Just like All Presidents, Reagan made mistakes but so did Clinton.
In my opinion, Reagan was correct in getting tough with The Soviets because it brought on, the beginning of the end of The Cold War. Before Reagan, other Presidents just catered to The Soviets.
I don't know how old you are but there have been Homeless Families in this Country for a very long time before Reagan took office.
As a matter of fact it was under the Carter Administration that a home for the mentally retarded here in New York called Willow Brook, was ordered closed and most of the adult residents in that home, ended up on the streets of New York.
Yes, I agree with you that Reagan made mistakes as far as Iran/Contra but over all, Reagan was a good President. Even though I am a Democrat, I did vote for him Twice. He was a better choice than Carter or Mondale.
I did vote for Clinton Twice but he too made his share of mistakes as well. He did bring a era of prosperity to the USA but in other ways, he was not tough enough...like with Bin Laden.
We would not be in the situation we are in today had Clinton been tougher on getting Bin Laden back in the mid 90's.
My point is...you can't blame One Man for all of the problems facing The USA.
I wanted to comment on all of your statement but it would take too long.

Reagan was the world's president. He realized that as the leader of the free world, there was more to think about than ourselves. He masterminded the coldwar chess game so well, we are credited with a great triumph with never having fired a shot. Not to mention the fact that he was able to bring together politicians from both side of the isle. His achievements are monumental. He became governor and then President from the extreme liberal state of California, bucking the trend of Southern presidents since Kennedy. Stop focusing on all the bad, every Presidency has plenty of things that didn't work out.

Couldn't agree more but the guy who said had you lived through the Carter Administration, has a point. You cannot believe how bad those Carter years were and I'm a Democrat.

The cons will blabber on about how he destroyed the Soviet Union, or some other such meaningless tripe. UBL thinks he and the Mujahadeen in Afghanistan did them in too. Delusional.
