so, when you're sad or angry does it make you happy to know it cant last forever?
i live each day going "well, i woke up again, so its a pretty good day".
i've learned that theres not much that life can toss my way that i cant make it through if i really put my energy into it. dont get me wrong, life isnt always grand, but theres always something to look forward to, and life is better than the alternative.

Well, when I am truly happy I am not thinking about what may bring me down later, just enjoying the moment. I know that emotions tend to cycle, but it really does not bother me because I have accepted that and know that just as I will not always be happy, I will not always be sad. Plus, I know that I can do things that will make me truly happy, like helping others. Don't get me wrong, I really like watching britcoms and joking around and whatnot, but that's not true happiness, so yeah sometimes that makes me nervous. But that's because I wonder why I'm doing that instead of something really useful. You're not alone, I think that's probably a very natural perception/feeling/complex.

People think that happiness is a fleeting emotion that is affected only by what is going on around you. That may be true, because getting presents makes a person happy, but getting sick with the flu makes you unhappy.
The real solution is to just choose to be happy. You have all the control over your thoughts and feelings, and if you just wake up in the morning and make a conscious decision to be happy, no matter what, and find something to be glad about in any situation, you will be. Life is for learning, not fearing.

You feel unhappy b'cas you are not living your present moments of life!
Well! why think of something that you are not sure of. We never know what would happen, how, why, good or bad...but we brood over them.
It is very sad that most of us loose the happiness of the precious present in the worries of tomorrow. What a pity it is that we again miss it when those 'once future' moments becomes our present brooding for the unknown future again.
We always do this often missing out those wonderful, lively 'PRESENT' moments of life...gone away for ever! And when we stand at the end of our life and turn back, all we will see is that we brooded all our life and never enjoyed a single moment that Life really PRESENTed us with!

Not uncommon.
It happens to a lot of people. The trick is to be okay with that.
It lets you enjoy 'today' and worry about tomorrow tomorrow.
"look I won $50 in a lottery today!" thinking tomorrow someones going to come and say I owe them $100... Well, You know what they probably will, and when they do, I'll find a way to make it happen, but today, my bills are paid, and I have and extra $50!
...eh, it works better some days then others.
It's late, and I'm going to bed.
Have fun (today because who knows what looms tomorrow!)
;)

NO how on earth could being happy "make" you unhappy.
You are punishing yourself by not letting yourself enjoy the bliss.
So what if it comes and goes. Life is a pot-luck picnic... you can have whatever you want but if you choose junk that is still your choice.
I have a ton of reasons to be sad but I choose to enjoy as much as possible and to create joyous moments to remember and lift me up in the sad times.
My favorite scene is the last one in THE LIFE OF BRIAN while being crusified they whistle ....always look on the bright side of life.... I think of that whenever I feel down and it always brightens my mood. You have more controll over your moods and your life than you think you do.
Cheers.

To be happy don't hold on to it. If it is forced, then it will surely lead to unhappiness. When you are happy don't try to control it or understand it. Questioning what is will always lead to what isn't and vice versa. Still we are alive and curious beings, this can be our downfall sometimes.

Everything comes to an end. :) You can't be happy all the time. There's no point in stressing about the next time you feel bummed out.
It's inevitable! Enjoy it while it lasts.

Think about it like this = If you're thinking about how unhappy you're going to be when your present happiness ends,, then you're not really happy at the moment,, are you? Therefore you have nothing to worry about do you?

No, but it makes you realize what the "greener grass" feels like so when you are unhappy, it sucks that much more. It definitely burns when you KNOW what you are missing.
