I had a doctor with the first, a midwife with the second, and now I don't know what to do. I had amazing experiences with both.

Maybe you can find a doctors office that has a midwife?? My doctor has a midwife that works there, and good thing you can see either one of them and they both know you. Its always good to have a doctor becasue if you would happen to need a c-section the midwife can not perform that.

Congratulations,
I had the same problem as I am currently pregnant with my 3rd and I to used a doctor with the first and midwife clinic with second, I found it hard to decide but as the weeks seem to be going by so quickly this time I have just used the doctor as I don't have to wait as long as with the midwife. I think its all the same it all depends on what you feel most comfortable with. They both do the same tests, I found living closer to the hospital then doctor so that's why I went there now its just easier to go to the doctor. Check out when you go to the midwife how many people are going the same day as you and how long the wait is.
Best wishes. Enjoy this pregnancy I love having the other 2 kids so interested.

This is a decision for you to make on your own and with your partner. You have to evaluate your needs and how you feel about this. Personally i prefer a doctor. I have had two pregnancies and miscarried the first at 3 months and then had a beautiful baby boy followed by a very complicated delivery. Knowing all the what ifs that can happen in delivery I'm more assured with having someone that has the experience of a obgyn doctor. Good luck and congrats.

Midwife for sure. Pregnancy isn't a medical condition, thus there's no place in pregnancy for a doctor. Only in the last hundred years of human history has pregnancy been treated as a disorder, requiring care and monitoring by a doctor.

Read this website, I found it quite informative when I was pregnant.

I had a doctor for the 5 of my pregnancies the first 3 were normal births with no problems and the last 2 needed to have emergency c-sections so I'm glad I had my doctor there. You never know what could happen.

If you've had problem free pregnancies and births before I would choose to have a midwife. I find Doctors far too intrusive in what should be a natural experience.

I had a baby in February, and started off with a Dr. but didn't like her, so when my insurance changed, I jumped at the opportunity to find someone else. Ended up with a midwife who works with a group of doctors and delivers at a fairly small local hospital.

It was excellent, because she was there for everything, but in the event of a problem, there was a dr. on call. Ended up needing him to prefor a c-section on my breech baby.

I plan to do the same, with the same group, for all subsequent children.

Good luck, and congrats on the baby!

If given a choice I would always prefer a doctor in a very good hospital.

I don't know why anyone would not avail themselves/their child of modern medicine and technologies. What if there were complications?
