Do think they are for ppl who cant play or for ppl who want to play better?...Also, do u think they tend to make a cruddy buzzing noise when the strings hit them...(Its a rumor ive heard)?

They are for people that either aren't very good, or are very good. Here's the reason:

Jumbo frets, since they sit higher they tend to be easier to make a clear note with a light touch. On the other hand, too much pressure will pull the strings out of tune which takes some practice to avoid.

So, new players with weak hands will benefit from the easier action, and more experienced players will dig the idea that they can do vibrato easier with their left hand technique.

I am a guitarist, and I HATE jumbo frets. My friend has a deluxe custom strat, and it has the worst feeling. Its got a real wide neck, jumbo frets, and fender bullet strings. It sucks BIG time. It is the most uncomfortable guitar to play, it is bairly playable. Most strats are comfortable but this one is far from it. Jumbo frets suck.

I like smaller frets, I have smaller hands. I suppose if you like the way they play, stick with them.

Maybe you don't have to press as hard- if you don't press hard enough it will buzz on any fret- experience- D
