Why does semen turns watery after exposed to air for some times?

This is a question I have been asking myself for quite a few years now, and yet I never bothered doing any research about it...

In my case, it feels like my ejaculated semen begins to evaporate or dry out quickly after it hit its target. For the longest time I wondered why oh why was I "cursed" with this liquid-like non-consistent sperm...

You see, I am part of the amateur p*rn world and I've been filming my ejaculations since 2004. Often in the "Behind The Scenes" clips I shoot for special members, I comment on how quickly my sperm seems to "dry out" and how it makes the post $-shot clips look less "messy" than they really are.

To begin with, my own semen is far from being the thickest type ever, although I watch my diet and take steps in helping increase my ejaculate's thickness for the camera. Still, I'm no Peter North in the thickness deptartment.

So I fear I too cannot properly answer your question. I will watch closely how this question evolves and how people answer it for I too would like to know why it seems to evaporate so quickly after I "shoot".

One thing I know; those spotlights I use for filming purposes can't help the matter!

I would think that its because the semen die.

I didn't know it did. Mine becomes thick and sticky.

maybe because the sperm dies from exposure so then it is just seminal fluid
