About divorce?
I think it's crap how some women marry men , For their money and divorce them in 6 months , I Believe it is , and get half of the things they own.
In all divorces , is that true?
I Dont know much so mind filling me in on things?
If I Married a rich women , and I Divorced her in a year will i get half of the things she owns?
If so , Why? thats stupid , If you dont own it , You shouldn't get it.
In divorces people should only get what's theirs , correct?

Marriage and divorce solely for the sake of money is wrong. But divorce can sometimes be a good thing. What about people in abusive relationships? Or what if a person's spouse cheats on them? If money is all you're worried about, then, as stated already, get a pre-nup. Actually, I think pre-nups are great tools, not just to make sure that if you are divorced your finances are protected, but also to ensure ahead of time what the conditions would have to be for your ex-spouse to be allowed to sue you (like, if you cheated on her, then she would be entitled to part of your fortune as a settlement). That kind of thing. Anyway, the reason finances become such a big issue during divorce is that a couple's assets are considered "community" property- in other words, they legally share everything unless specifically stated otherwise in an agreement before-hand. The laws vary from state to state on this. This dates from a time when women were completely dependent on their husbands for money, and might even have been considered chattle. So it's a bit old-fashioned. But part of the main idea of marriage is giving all of yourself and sharing completely with your spouse, so it is still considered a very valid practice. Anyway....

That's why it's important to have a prenuptial agreement before you get married, that way you keep what's yours. The only people I've know that have gotten divorced is because their spouse was a bad parent. I think divorce is a good thing, it's a whole lot better than putting up with someone you dislike.

This varies state by state, and changes if a couple signs a prenuptual agreement.
In Indiana (where I live) all property become community property upon marriage, so if the couple divorces all things are split 50/50 (this can be negotiated in court, and prenups can change things).
Not every state works this way. Also, it's not just women who occasionally marry for money. Some men do it too.

I think that in most states a couple has to be married for a certain length of time before they can get half of the other person's estate. That is also why the couple usually has prenuptial agreements.

That's why in many states they have laws that protect against people like that, you have to be married a certain length of time to qualify for anything from the other party. Like 10 years or something.

Agreed.
It's sick how these horrible women marry for money. Yeah, I'd marry a rich guy if he was nice, but if he was a jerk, I'd dump him in a snap.
And yes, you should get what is only yours.
