THE most important thing is exercise.
I have been losing weight for a while now and I had hit a plateau for a while even though I was eating less and less. The breakthrough came when I began exercising somewhat regularly (3-4 times per week for 20 or more minutes). I was doing mostly easy stuff (recumbent bike, weightlifting with light dumbbells, walking, even bowling. Anything to get you moving a bit more than normal.
One other thing that I might suggest is to spread out your meals and eat 5-7 smaller meals. It can amp up your metabolism quite a bit and actually allow you to eat more and feel more full for more of the day.
ALSO... make sure you are getting the proper nutrients and try not to think of it as that most frustrating 4-letter word D I E T. Try to make changes that you can sustain for life.
No matter what you end up doing... GOOD LUCK! :)

weight reduction can be done by a systemic approach of
1. reducing your fat, carbohydrate intake that is reducing the execess energy stuff.
2.properly utilising the energy stores of the body.
about the first u said ur in diet. thats good u can have a control in ur foodstuff.get a dieticians advice.BUT AVOID SHORT EATS AND SNACKS
second about utilising the energy - increase ur physical activity by means of proper exercise. according to me swimming, walking definitely will reduce ur weight.
the biggest problem is rebound increase in wt. if u stop doing exercise definitely again ur wt will increase.so self motivation is must for that try yoga and meditaion.
finally check ur thyroid status. insufficient thyroxin can be a reason for ur increased weight

Exercise more and reduce your portion size. Cut out the sugars and processed foods, eat wheat and fibers instead of white flour, white breads and white pastas. You call this losing weight the right way, and I promise you it will work. You didn't get overweight overnight, and you won't lose the weight overnight either, but it will come off and if you lose it the right way you will keep it off forever. Good luck!
