Superman; he represents truth, justice, and the American way. and no one's heard of The Sentry besides you, me, and fifty-six other guys, but they're dealing +53 damage in their mothers basements as level 5 fire mages.

Sentry is a little more ruthless and would be more willing to kill Superman than vice versa. But I believe that Superman would prevail for a few reasons:
1. More experience.
2. Sentry has a tendency to throw people into the sun, and would most likely do the same.to Big Blue once he realizes he's tougher than he looks. And since on a few occasions, Superman has flown through the sun. And after Supes comes out, Sentry is gonna be in even more trouble since Supes will (forgive the pun) "super-charged".
3. Superman is NOT stupid. He is an investigative journalist for a newspaper that rivals the New York Times. He's a decent enough strategist and is far more mentally stable than the Sentry.
And finally, Superman would somehow be able to deduce that the Sentry was mentally disturbed and the fight would most likely end in them becoming buddies and Superman trying to help him.

For stability and experience I have to say Superman. Also Superman is no lightweight in the powers and abilities departments.
Even though I am a huge Superman fan, I think the Sentry could do it with his powers. It all depends upon where the fight takes place. Home comic advantage. Superman being a flagship character for DC wouldn't be beaten by a Marvel hoax. Marvel hoax because of the way the Sentry was created.

The Sentry, because he s basically superman with magic, not merely an alien.
Superman, because Sentry beats himself through psychosis. And although Superman runs into Cryptonite all the time, Sentry is overconfident enough not look for Supe s weaknesses.

Depends. If they're completely in character, no one would win. Superman would see how mentally unstable Robert is and call the fight off to help him. If it's a death battle where all morals are off (removing Sentry's biggest weakness) then Sentry uses his power of a million suns or something that I read like that to decimate Superman

sentry, he is an instant in time ahead of superman, superman would NEVER even lay a punch on him.
Sentry's only weakness would be against a telepath, martian manhunter would win against sentry, superman would get creamed.
