I've put lavendar drops around, and put all bowled fruit in the fridge ... what is the most effective way to get rid of midgies from inside the house? We have animals inside, so we need it to be something natural that won't hurt them.

I hate those things. They are attracted to liquor so this is what I did:
I put a small amount of liquor in a glass and smeared syrup around the rim. Leave it for a whole day. They land on the glass and get stuck. Then just drop the glass in a sink full of water.

Just cause someone is short, you don't have to get rid of them.
