Your question isn't a dumb as some people here think. For the MOST part, your weight has little to do with your ability to get pregnant. Big girls get pregnant all the time, just like slim and regular ones do. There is a causal relationship between being UNDERWEIGHT and having trouble getting pregnant, because if your body fat drops below a certain percentage of your total weight, and your body knows you are starving to death and couldn't possibly sustain nourishing another life, you can stop having your period.

There is also a CORRELATION between being overweight and having trouble trying to conceive a child, for some women - those who have a condition called PCOS or Poly-Cystic Ovarian Syndrome. In this case, being overweight doesn't cause the problem with getting pregnant. Rather, both the weight and the difficulty getting pregnant are outcomes of hormonal differences in these women as compared to other women. (It's a technical thing relating to the ratio between two hormones called your FSH and your LH, and also the level of testosterone in your system. It messes up your cycles and makes it incredibly easy to gain weight, and harder than average to lose it.)

Your question is not stupid...as I have read..if they did any research they would know that yes,,,being over weight does affect your chances of getting pregnant...

How does being overweight affect fertility?
Women who are overweight or obese may have imbalances in reproductive hormones that affect menstrual cycles and prevent ovulation.

Clarisa Gracia, MD, a reproductive endocrinologist at Penn Fertility Care states, “The relationship between obesity and reproductive problems is complicated. However, insulin resistance and estrogen production from fat cells can affect the ovaries and prevent eggs from being released every month. This condition is called anovulation. If an egg is released, the egg may not be healthy enough to result in a pregnancy.

“Fertility problems related to weight usually affect women who are at least 10 percent over their ideal body weight. While fertility treatments are available to improve the chances of becoming pregnant, weight loss alone may correct infertility in some cases,” Dr. Gracia said.

Yes. It is possiable. Although sometimes it's harder for women who are overweight to get pregnant. If you are trying to get pregnant I suggest attempting to drop some weight, I am trying to conceive and I am trying to lose some weight to help out. Drink lots of water, it helps!
