If they were overly religious then yes that would affect whether I voted for them or not.. because they would use their religious beliefs over the good of the country- gender might.. if a woman ran for president .. she would have to represent herself as a very strong woman, because even as a woman.. I do think woman are more emotional than men are.. and would let their emotions govern their beliefs over the good of the country... race and sexual orientation, wouldn't matter to me.. as long as I agreed to what they were standing for

Nope. None of that affects how I vote. What a candidate's intentions and policies are, however, that's what affects the way I vote. Race, gender, beliefs, or orientation have nothing to do with it.

Of course - anyone who says different is being dishonest with themselves. Race, gender, sexual orientation and religious or spiritual beliefs are what make us WHO WE ARE and shape our view of the world - you cannot separate these factors - and that goes for a politicians too. Who they are will in turn shape their viewpoints and their agendas.
This is a complicated question that too many people want to jump in a answer of "No" or "of course not" because they think it makes them seem more accepting or intelligent. Actually, it shows how little we understand ourselves. It is okay to say that WHO A PERSON IS and what life experiences have shaped them would effect how you judge them (i.e. vote for them)

The election gadget is heavily rigged and fraught with uninvestigated fraud for some years now. Your vote in a presidential election has approximately as lots unquestionably effect on the top results of what autocrat sits indoors the WH as a infant's motor vehicle seat toy steerage wheel has on the situation the vehicle is extremely being pushed. in distinctive words, your vote is meaningless previous symbolic value on your self. A presidential candidate on an same time will declare his credentials as a believer or Christian to fulfill people who do no longer learn strikes and are arranged approximately how a infant-kisser supposedly "believes". The emperors of previous all claimed divine anointment to legitimize their rule.

Certainly their religious beliefs. I mean if you look at all the unAmerican decisions made by Bush ( he says his 'religion' doesn't allow him to support stem cell research, regardless of the fact the people DO support it ), and his ignoring of doing anything related to stopping global warming ( it isn't his world or his country but he wants to continue polluting it ), then yes, I will NOT vote or support any politician that says, "vote for me because I am a man ( or woman ) of God". If that is the case, they should be leading a church, not sending people off to die while occupying another country ( there is no WAR with Iraq, it is the Sunnis/Shites, Kurds civil war that is causing the problems ).

possibly their religious beliefs would affect my vote, if they used their religion as a basis for where they stand on issues. For instance, if they are evangelical christians and oppose abortion and gay marriage, they wont get my vote. But that is less for their religious affiliation then their positions on issues.

No. There are only two things I care about: 1) Their stand on the issues. 2) How sincere they are about that agenda once they're elected.

Religious beliefs maybe. Conservatives take all like minded. I really like Michael Steele. We will hear from him again. I like it when there are prominent conservatives who are also black. It so angers liberals.

No, it wouldn't, as long as they had a solid background and I agreed with their ideals and platform.
