You are probably secretly sick of him.... I am guilty of the same thing.

Yes, it could be that you are not used to it. It may be scaring you that it may not last, and you are freaking out. Your mind and body just need adjustment to this change. Some times when my husband is hugging me at night, I feel trapped, and feel like I can't breathe. It is because I am a restless sleeper. I can't stay in one position for to long. It has nothing to do with my husband. There are people out their who don't like to be touched, this is because their parents never gave them physical contact as a child. Don't worry about it to much, in time you will get better, and use to it.

I was glad that you asked this question. I wanted to ask, but I thought the question might sound ridiculous to others and they would give me answers that were more like judgements. I am having the same problem as well with my husband. He is 6"5, and I feel very "closed" and "boxed" in. I am 5"3. If I mention it to him---this will hurt his feelings. He believes that each night we have to sleep like a pack of "Twizzlers" (lol). I toss and turn a lot during the night, and if he is holding me---this prevents me from stretching, twisting, turning, etc. and I get annoyed in my sleep. (lol). Thanks for having the courage to ask this question. I will accept the answers you received for myself as well.

He must be a very big man. Maybe you like space. That's sad he hasn't held you before. You would think in the beginning that's all they want to do.

You are too afraid to trust him.You associate his touch with discomfort, even danger, also, there are ideas lingering about a relationship "smothering" you,"no room to breathe".

A lot of people like to have "their" space when they sleep... You may be one of them... or your husband may need to go on a diet because of his size...

I think it just means you need your space when you're trying to sleep.
