Make an outline of the study material as you are reading it. It will help you a great deal. When you want to write your thoughts out make an outline of that first then make another one with more detail and from that write your paper. Read your material with your mom and have her question you on what you have read. Another trick is to use colored highlight markers using certain colors for certain thoughts that go together. If the thoughts are not related then rotate the colors. All of these suggestions give you more of a visual aid and helps your brain sort things out and put it in place. Also when you have to write a paper it is helpful to do it on the computer on a good word program as it will check your spelling and you don’t have to worry about interchanging your letters. Make sure you read over the material twice before turning it in, the first time you may not see things clearly but may catch it the second time. These are really good for some dyslexic problems. I am dyslexic and this has helped me a lot. The highlight markers is the best idea that I ever came up with to help me. Maybe it will help you too. Visual helps are great, anything you can come up with including pictures that you draw or cut and paste. Good luck with your endeavors.◘

One thing about this is determination, your ability, your interest, how devoted you can be. No body is born being a dyslexia, the problem is from our parents most times. there's a say that goes like this, bring up a child in a way that when he grows he will never depart from you. If you dedicate your time on something you want, or you want to know, i tell you, you will be perfect. Pick out the words, pick them one after the other, take your time and pronounce words, when you spell, take your dictionary and confirm them, use them when ever you talk, and when you hear people talk, pick the words that interest you, go to you dictionary, confirm the word and the meaning, then you can now use them. With time, you will see your self growing , no body has to tell you, you will notice it on your own ok. Good lock.

I have dyslexia too although I never went under any treatment or anything, I read and write a lot, when I write on paper I always miss letters or put them in the incorrect order and when I type in the computer I miss entire words, small words but it is still a problem! So I just re read everything I write and even doing so I miss things but so far it hasn't been too much trouble, thankfully

I see from previous answers that all the help I could give has already been referred to. However I want to congratulate you on your courage asking the question on here. Yahoo answers was designed for this sort of thing but too many people have hijacked it for the purposes of trying to be "smart". You had the right approach and it appears so have nearly all the people who have answered you. Nice to see that caring is not dead, all those who genuinely tried to help you deserved more than two points you also deserve recognition for your intelligent use of Yahoo Answers. Keep this up and maybe we'll eliminate those who abuse this site, intellectually or morally.

Unique approach. Unparalleled. Addresses the root of dyslexia (disorientation), rather than attempting to band-aid the problem. Excellent.

With age you learn to deal with it. help I have found can be as simple as colored sun shades . to cutting a small slot in a piece of stiff paper so you can just see to read one line at a time from a book you are reading. learning to type really helped me as you do not look at keys and spelling is from memory so you simply tell your fingers what to do. Allow your mind to see your work not your eyes.
My son mastered the alphabet by using cut out ABC wooden blocks he could feel then draw the shape.

My husband is dyslexic too. He is coping well with lots of reading these days and writing. Letting someone who is understanding next to you, to help and encourage you helps too. I'm not sure of cure, but I'm sure there's an institute out there that can help you. Good luck!
