I heard somewhere that when you are in the water your period flow doesn't occur. When you get out it will...just not while you are actually IN the water...is that true or just a rumor?

yeah, that's true. that's why you don't need to wear a tampon in the shower or bathtub. you just gotta be careful when you come out of the shower or bathtub or swimming pool, b/c it starts back up pretty quickly.

rumor. I am a speed swimmer since I was 5. Lets just say, many periods in the water, plus plenty in the lake. I had a tampon in, i put it in right before, and took it out right after and it was full. Even with out a tampon it will show, this happened to a friend of mine. If it is a light flow the water will make it so you don't notice. Chlorine can help kill it and lakes you can't see anything.

It is a total myth.

Sorry, not true, unless you happen to be doing some deep diving. But if you're just swimming and up near the surface, your flow does occur. And unfortunately, depending on where you are swimming, it can attract voracious fish or eels.

Yes its true. Your period stops in water, but it does start back up pretty quickly once you get out, so be prepared.
