Well I don't have a husband but I can share with you the really cool things my father has done for my mother. He prepaid for her to go to a spa with a friend. He took some old family photos and had them restored and put in nice frames. She belongs to a book club so he bought all of the books and wrapped them up for xmas. He bought her an antique ring from a jewelry store, he planned a surprise party for her and had all the teachers she taught with be a their house for a luncheon. Then had a photographer take pictures of this. He's gone to antique stores and got old ornaments for the tree. He found out what kind of perfume she liked and he bought it, you could also get a gift certificate if you don't know what she wants. Once he got her several gift certificates for her coffee shop so she doesn't have to pay. You could also buy crystal candle holders or crystal glasses. Fruit of the month, cheese of the month, or decorations for her garden.

One Christmas way back when things were tight financially so we told each other we would not do Christmas gifts just get for the 4 kids. Well… as I was out shopping needless to say I did pick him up some things, not really Christmas type gifts per say more like every day essentials that I knew he needed. I just didn’t have the heart not to have him open anything on Christmas morning, and knowing my kids as I did I knew they would question as well, for at the time the all believed in Santa.

Any how Christmas morning comes, kids open their things and hubby sees a small pile for him. To my shock there was nothing for me at all, I mean nothing, not even a new toothbrush. Needless to say hubby was a bit upset with me for he saw in my eyes and knew just what I was thinking… he said but we talked about this and we said NO GIFTS this year all I could say back to him was "But it's Christmas"

We managed to get through the day though I have to admit my heart was broke and yes I know was my own fault for we did say NO GIFTS… New year comes and we celebrate as per our usual ringing in it… and I wake up the next day and I find gifts under the tree with a note attached from Santa stating that they must have fallen off his sleigh. I have to admit I was not expecting this at all, so not only did I get a few gifts to open it was a total surprise which added to the joy of it all. We laughed about the fact of how much he must have saved doing his shopping after Christmas and even went as far as discussing we should do this every year just think of the $$ we would save… he looked at me with one of his famous looks and simply said…. "But It's Christmas"

we are fairly regularly occurring. Honey, sweetie, babe. it particularly is humorous nonetheless, with the aid of fact our daughter has picked up on it and he or she'll usually call me between the above & calls him honey. He in some cases calls me his cunning lady, it particularly is thoroughly embarrassing in public, haha. We have been out to consume with a huge team the different day, and he advised the waitress "That cunning lady interior the pink is mine, placed her on my tab.." lol.
