I am a self proclaimed Buddhist and I see the slow deterioration of marriage at every turn but I mostly only see them in people if the Christian faith. However; I believe that Oregon Flower is wrong in every sense of the word because Marriage did not come along because Christianity came along. Marriage was a practice that has been around for centuries and it meant a lot to them then and it means a lot to people now. Nowadays however, in America, marriage is an institution that is agreed upon and treated like a more expensive way to date and it is sad. I personally used to believe that marriage was just a good tax break until I met the man who changed my world. And now, I finally believe in marriage and I know when it happens that it will be one of the most important things I do in my life. Now I cannot say that a "god" ordained this but I can say that when I go to sleep or meditate, I know I am making the right decisions.
