They are not going to vote to limit their own terms so we just have to limit them ourselves with our votes. Most people at the national level are professional politicians so the only other job open to them is lobbying.

Some cities do have term limits. most notably NYC which for years has tried to lift there limits with no luck. As for congress the Constitution originally spelled term limits for all elected federal posions but it was drooped in a compromise

It's very simple. The Congress, Senate and Mayors haven't made it a law.

that would be a good idea, have a two term limit on Cogressmen. That way it would not be just a job for politians to move up in and it could include more average americans like our founding fathers wanted.

but like everyone said Congress will not impose a limit on its own power if it dose not have to.

Because the Constitution didn't impose them for Congress, and because there's no way Congress is going to impose them on themselves.

As to mayors, that's up to each individual state's laws.

I DON'T LIKE TERM LIMITS. LET THE VOTERS PUT WHOEVER THEY WANT IN OFFICE FOR AS LONG AS THEY SEE FIT!!
