NO NO NO NO NO - step away from the washer. put the shoes down. good. listening? okay good. let them dry and then take them to the dry cleaners. If you really want them restored to their best, that's the best way to go.

let the mud dry and then brush the mud off, after that clean them with a good cleaner and if they are leather, treat the leather with saddle soap and or shoe polish.
