There are pro's and con's to this(like Im sure everyone knows). I went to public schools my whole life, and I had the oportunity to see how people treated those who had not the means or their parents wouldnt purchase the most "trendy" clothes that were available, or the coolest shoes, etc. These kids were often met with dislike or made a mockery of and were pursecuted because they didnt have clothes or shoe's that were viewed as "cool". How often have we as individuals looked at someone and passed judgement on them because of their clothes or hair or something like that? Also, Junior High and High school are an important time in the developemental stages of a teenager. So, by using uniforms, we would eliminate some(not all) of these problems. I also had the chance to live in the fine country of Chile. There, every school at every level uses uniforms. Why it does take the "freedom" to choose ones clothing(even though legally one loses some of their freedoms upon entering school, such as, freedom of speech, right to bear arms, etc.), another problem faced is immodest dress. While I was in chile I viewed many girls who had the shortest skirts ever. Skirts that you would think were from an adult film. Put that with guys whose hormones are a blaze and wild and at the age of a high schooler, your bound to get increased sexuality and with that, increased teenage pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases. Plus, with uniforms like that, where will boys attention be? Obviously on the hot girl with the hot uniform. So, there are a lot of things to take a look at, things that are good and bad.

Well...I see benefits to both. I've attended private school from elementary through High school. It was fair to all students. No one had to worry about "bad style" or whether or not they could afford expensive clothing. It also taught me cleanliness and required me to learn how to dress "up", which I feel is a very valuable key in life. A down side to that is...youths need to be able to be individuals. Some people express their feelings, beliefs, and many other things through clothing. Should we take that away from them?

~All in all...I think schools should have a combination system...Some days uniform, and the other days free dress~

yes. it's gonna help the people identify which school you're from and it's a lot easier for the students not to think about what they're going to wear the next day [for the fashion updated ones]. and besides, school uniform is one way to show discipline and unity.
