Hockey players are young men picked right off the frozen ponds of "anywhere the water freezes" They are not - would-be-lawyers.... They are not would-be-doctors or dentists or shoe-polishers... / They don't have the luxury of a back-up career if this one doesn't work out...... / They don't spend 4 years in college negotiating a pro career.............
THEY KNOW!!! That this is it!!! This is all they ever wanted to be... and that this is what they were born to do. Without it... they'll be flipping burgers at their hometown McDonalds so they give everything they have. EVERYTHING.
This is also what makes hockey the greatest sport on planet Earth!
