No unfortunately you can not change the format of the drive with out formatting and getting rid of all the data stored on the disc .... there should be no reason why you should have to change the format of your drive unless you just want the more stable and secure NTFS system on it

FAT and NTFS are different ways of organizing files on a hard drive. As far as I know, in order to change your file system, you need to reformat your drive. You can get an external hard drive relatively cheap if you need to back up all your data, you could transfer it to another computer if you have one, or if there are just a few files you need, you can toss them on a USB flash drive.

not that i know of.. ntfs is way better anyway. fat was designed for old school small os.. you may have heard of fat32.. no i dont think its possible.. sorry though.. back it all up!
