I am doing some research for a class and I will use feedback here in the project! I got my information from the US Department of Justice website. My article is going to be about misconceptions about offenders! The vast majority of sex offenders are male. However, females also commit sexual crimes.

Not even close. The majority of **convicted** sex offenders are male. But many studies show that female sex offenders may make up as much as one-third of the total population. It's just harder to convict them because there's often less evidence of the crime.

Actually there are probably just as many females committing sexual crimes as males. The problem is that most of the victims of a female sex offender are afraid to come forward because they're embarassed. The other problem is that males are often so willing that they realize too late what is actually happening. If you want, I can give you a story about an incidence of a female sex crime. Trust me, though, females are alot more aggressive than males when it comes to committing sex crimes.

Yes females do commit underage sex offenses. They are generally regarded more lineally though. So a reverse double standard. If a male takes advantage of an underage female, even if it is by mutual agreement and a year or months in their age difference, it is rape. An older woman taking advantage of an underage male is regarded as sexy and education. I don't really agree with either idea.

No, there have been several teachers in the news over the past few years. Female ones that have seduced there students. One, Pamela Smart, even had a couple of her students including her lover kill her husband. Check the news on Yahoo, or Google, you will find plenty of them. Mary Jo Latourno, she had two children with a student and went to jail. She later married him.
