Anyone can get pregnant on their period but not normally unless it's towards the end of it. Also yes the patch being on it and going into your period would further the infertility aspect.

Today's woman demands that the birth control method she uses is both safe and effective. Women trust ORTHO EVRA because they know they can count on the Patch for contraception that works.

As effective as the Pill, ORTHO EVRA is the first weekly form of reversible contraception that's 99 percent effective when used correctly. Clinical data from 3 extensive trials with more than 3,300 women with over 22,000 menstrual cycles have validated the safety and efficacy of the birth control patch.

ORTHO EVRA helps prevent pregnancy the same way birth control pills do: by preventing ovulation. This means that the ovary does not release an egg to be fertilized. It also thickens the cervical mucus, which makes it more difficult for sperm to enter the uterus, and it changes the endometrium to reduce the chance of implantation

No. Not if you're on your period AND on a birth control patch. Despire popular belief- its incredibly hard to get pregnant. A woman only really needs to worry when she's ovulating (its the week inbetween periods) and even then, its about a 3 day window that it has the chance to happen in. Not to say that you can't get pregnant any other time BUT, its a LOT harder.
Being on your period means that your egg has always been released and the lining of the uterus is being expelled, it can't hold a fertilized egg so there's no way to get pregnant.

The only 100% effective birth control is never letting semen come near your vagina.

However, if you are wearing the patch, changing it when you are supposed to, and are on your period? You are just as protected as you are at any other time of the month. The fact that you are on your no-medicine week doesn't make a difference. You have the 98%+ effectiveness that you always have.
