The one thing that really irks me is his total refusal to take responsibility for his errors and his inability to realize that the war in Iraq is a disaster. But there's a lot of that going around the administration. I've seen several interviews in which he blatantly lied about the type of body armor and munitions that our troops had, yet was never called on it. Meanwhile Bush was talking about how John Kerry had voted against giving the troops the body armor that Rumsfeld swore they already had. And then there were the press conferences in which Rumsfeld assured us that the generals did not want more troops there and were satisfied with the war effort, when the very same military leaders were complaining that they needed more troops and their men and women were having to do two and three tours of duty. Too much double-speak and blameshifting.

Rumsfeld is an idiot like his former boss. It's easy to tell by the way the war is going. First of all, I want to understand the drive to give Iraqui's a democracy. They have never had such a form of government from Biblical times to the present. As a matter of fact, I don't think they was a democracy. I think they want a theocracy with us out of their country. Why are we fighting a war in Iraq anyway, somebody remind me again?

Rumsfeld was simply one of the many incompetents in the Bush administration, unable to subdue his own megalomania.
In the early stages of the Iraqi war, Rumsfeld was asked about the consequences of innocent civilians killed as a result of the fighting. His smug, insensitive reply: "STUFF HAPPENS!"
Hubris fills a man's ego, sometimes to overflowing. Rumsfeld, Cheney, and Bush - along with all 535 members of the most incompetent, arrogant, contemptible, delusional, corrupt Congress in U.S. history - should be tried in an international tribunal for high crimes against humanity, and - if convicted - should hang, right alongside Saddam Hussein.
The Bush administration - and the sitting U.S. Congress - is responsible for 655,000 Iraqi deaths and almost 3,000 U.S. soldiers' deaths, for no justifiable reason. These are evil devils without soul or conscience. They deserve to die for their evil deeds. -RKO-

Kudos to RKO! Actually, Abu Ghraib (sp?) should have been the death nail for Rumsfeld. Colin Powell held him personally responsible for that. Rumsfeld better hope there is no God and no hell because he has a day of reckoning ahead of him and it ain't gonna be pretty!

Well the guy has been running around in the same circles since Nixon was President. I think he just got to comfortable in his position and status and thought that everyone would just do what he says.
They obviously never fully thought out this war and just went about it full steam ahead without an exit plan. People realize this and started to dislike him.
He comes across as an arrogant rude SOB too.

Here's my two cents on the subject........
I think Don Rumsfeld is a good man.and I think he did the best job he could do, considering the people in Iraq who have no value for life.......I also think that the Dems are mad because we are still at war after 3 years...I also don't think ANYONE is happy about it but you can't wave the white flag. That's not who we are. A war in which they approved, so someone had to be in charge of the military........He was appointed by Bush and approved by the Dems and Republicans.....As a citizen by birth of this country, I appreciated the job and effort he gave.......this is his country too don't forget,,,,,,He did the best he could! He should be proud !! I'm proud of his service to our (his) country..! Thanks Mr. Rumsfeld! You helped to keep us safe from harm.!

You have to be kidding... the mastermind of the lies that got us into this mess... George isn't smart enough to dream up this one... It's a tossup between Rumsfeld and Chaney... and it could be either one of those nimrods.
