Yes, there are 4 of them.
Kyle, Cartman, Kenny and Stan (in any order). Everyone has favorites, but those are the main four characters and at least one is usually included in almost every story. Sometimes a different character will be made into a main character for a story such as "Butters" or Stans dad, "Mr. Marsh."

I think it's Cartman. Although the four of them are probably equal. I love South Park. I just asked a question about them too.
