I am currently a freshman in highschool, and I have always wanted to become a pediatrician. However, I need some more information to help me to decide if it is right for me. What classes should I be taking? I am a freshman and am currently taking:
honors english and history
algebra 2
biology
spanish

If I continue on this track, is it good enough for me to get into medical school/college/etc??
Also, what are the pros and cons? What is the average salary?
If there are any pediatricians reading this, has your expereince been fulfilling?
Thank you for your time!

take as many advance level courses in high school, have a high gpa, do well on the sat/act/ap tests, participate in school functions (clubs), volunteer in the community, hold leadership positions, have summer experience (work at doctor's office, nursing home, day care center, etc...)

Well you don't have honors biology or math so that doesnt look good.....But you could still get into a good school if you work hard. This career is very fulfilling and you feel good about yourself but sometimes it's overwhelming and you have to ask yourself," Is it really worth it?" Because of the long hours you don't get much of a social life but I took that risk and am glad I did the salary is different all over about...........$115,000 a year. Hope this helps, and I don't mean to be rude about the nonhonors

One of the peds on the train I take my daughters to is a D.O. Surprisingly he's a lot more more likely to move the medicinal path with my women. He prescribes meds manner quicker than the opposite peds (M.D.) there do. The closest scientific university to us truthfully most effective offers with D.O.s, so I'd say he simply went to university there and did not have a alternative. Most of the men and women I realize do not even realize the change in D.O. and M.D.
