US Cellular? Alltel? Cingular? Verizon Wireless? SunCom? Sprint? I'm talking about the popular service providers. I will be getting cellphone service again soon and I'm really curious to know if Verizon Wireless and Cingular really do have "the fewest dropped calls". That's the most important thing I'm looking for. My boyfriend has a Sprint cell phone and can't even get a signal inside the house. I need a service provider with the best signal reception.

I had US Cellular before and I rarely had problems with signal reception, just wanted to know if any others were better than US Cellular.

It really depends on where you live. Ask your friends and co-workers. Cingular and US Cellular and best where I live in Sothern Oregon.

I have used all of the above mentioned carriers except for US Cellular. I can honestly say from my personal experience, the best overall reception I've received was from Verizon, with Sprint the next best.
However, there are variables to consider: do you travel a lot or stay mostly in your local area? All cell companies have areas where they are not well covered (holes in the coverage area, if you will). If you do travel a lot, I would recommend Verizon or Sprint. If you stay predominantly in your local area, it would be worth the investigation to discover who has the widest & thickest coverage area & the most cell towers. Another thing to consider is what carrier the people you call the most have. If they have good service experience, it may save $ to have the same carrier.
