I am going to bid on an item on ebay that I AM going to win. How long left before the auction runs out shall I type in my massive bid to avoid others bidding but to make sure I get my bid in on time. My computer is fairly fast and on broadband.

It doesn't matter when you bid, others can't see your total until they pass it. But there are "sniper" programs out there no that will snatch it at the last second, a real PIA unless you are the item seller.

I have an eBay rating of over 100 and can tell you from experience: bid within the final 30 seconds and set a reasonable max bid. Remember that nothing on eBay is unique, if you don't win you'll see it again sooner or later. Sniper programs are ok, if you like to give your password to an unknown entity....

There are bidding programs people use to make sure they win a bid, so don't be surprised if someone outbids you anyway.

You can bid early and put in your limit, which will only be reached if someone else tries to outbid you. If it reaches your limit you can then decide whether you want it bad enough to keep bidding.

Believe me, there are some very savvy bidders these days.

Good luck !

I have done over 300 ebay bids, i win at 18 seconds, by the time it goes through and you verify twice, time is up for others.
