The Siberian taiga is flat and low-lying. When you travel east from Britain, the only land higher than 3000 feet is the Ural mountains, all the way to Russia's Pacific coast. The Urals, which in most countries would be called hills, not mountains, form an arbitrary boundary between Europe and Asia.
